Are non-Orthodox visitors welcome?

Yes, Absolutely. We are a Christian community, which is open to all. We are very welcoming to newcomers, inquirers, relatives and friends, and visitors. Anyone who desires to know and discover ancient Coptic Orthodox Christianity is encouraged to come over and ask. The parish priest is ready to answer your question and to explain what we do, how, and why. You are welcome to attend the Liturgy, Bible Study, Adult Meetings, Sunday School for your kids, and any other social gathering or activity.

Is there a dress code?

The general instruction here for all is: to dress up appropriately, modestly, and respectfully as we stand before the living God.

Is childcare provided?

Each family should take full care of their kids. The church encourages the active participation of the children, as it helps developing their spirituality. There is “kids room” in the back corner, where you may find a safe place for babies and toddlers with many toys. Additionally, there is a wonderful playground for kids downstairs, where they can enjoy their time.

Is Sunday School available?

Yes, It is 30 minute class that starts after Sunday Liturgy and the Agape meal.

Standing or sitting during the prayer?

The Orthodox people stand for prayer with full reverence as we stand in the presence of God. Seats are preserved for the elderly, kids, and those of special needs. The congregation is allowed to sit down during the Liturgical readings, the sermon, other gatherings, or whenever the one needs some rest.

Can non-Orthodox receive the Holy Communion?

The Holy Communion in the Coptic Orthodox Church is not symbolic. We believe that: it is the Holy Body and the Precious Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which bless us and keep us in full community and unity with God and with each other this is why the person should be Orthodox first through catechism classes, Baptism, and chrismation. Additionally, the one should be well prepared to partake in the Holy Communion through Confession, peaceful life, and coming to the Liturgy on time.
